The S&T Store Verba Collect System
All instructors with courses assigned for the upcoming semester in PeopleSoft will be emailed a personalized link to access the Verba Collect site. Once you access the site, you will be prompted through the process of submitting adoptions for your assigned courses.
Walk-through for Professors
These four short videos walk through the process of submitting adoptions using Verba Collect:
Video 1: Getting Started
Video 2: Copying From Other Adoptions
Video 3: Adding Materials Manually
Video 4: Submitting Your Adoption
You should receive an email from The S&T store that includes your personalized link to adopt the materials for your assigned courses. If you don’t receive that link or don’t see all your courses listed, please contact David Wilson at wilsonge@mst.edu.
Once Verba Collect requisitions are submitted and approved, they download into our store inventory management system for us to review and make adjustments if necessary.
Open Educational Resources (OER), Open Access Content
Open Educational Resources (OER) are teaching and learning materials that are freely available online for everyone to use, whether you are an instructor, student or self-learner. Examples of OER include: full courses, course modules, syllabi, lectures, homework assignments, quizzes, lab and classroom activities, pedagogical materials, games, simulations, and many more resources contained in digital media collections from around the world.
From OpenEducationalResources.pbworks.com
Many instructors are using OER and Open Access Content to replace or supplement their existing course materials. There are many websites dedicated to providing OER and Open Access Content, our campus library is also a great place to begin any OER search. (Please Note: the copyright license or parameters of use differ with each item. Be sure to check the usage guidelines for the product you are interested in to make sure that you understand how you may use it.)
If you want to provide your students options, you can work with S&T Publishing to offer these materials as Print on Demand.
If you have questions about OER and Open Access Content please do not hesitate to contact us gallardom@mst.edu
OER at the Library
The Library has information and systems in place that faculty can use to make course materials including some textbooks freely shareable for students.
Visit the Library's OER page for details.
